Position Title: Designer

External Description:

This position is responsible for the design, development, and concept of T by Talbots from concept through tech packing in partnership with the Design Director, Technical Design, and Sourcing. The core categories of internal design and development are loungewear, active, and cut & sew knitwear.

The pay rate range for this position is $45.67 - $52.88 per hour.

What You’ll Do:

• Research global, domestic and competitive markets to identify new trends, fabrics, and techniques helping to build out seasonal concept and color
• Create Design Presentation Boards
• Responsible for technical package process, to include drawings, measurements and design detail specifications and hands off to Technical Design
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the line (silhouettes, yarns/fabrics and design details) and is responsible for tracking changes/additions
• Maintain specification sheets, trim sheets, and pitch sheets
• Research competitive market and present results and ideas
• Key partners include Merchandising, PD/Sourcing, Technical Design, and Vendors
• BBR and PLM experience
• Adobe Suite- Illustrator, Photoshop, PP
• Strong cut & sew knit knowledge

Who You Are:

• Knowledge and experience at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree
• 8+ years of related experience
• Independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
• Superior sketching ability with strong Illustrator skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must be highly organized
• Able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced office environment
• Must be highly collaborative in a team environment
• Strong work ethic
• Proficient with computer programs including Photoshop, Illustrator, and Microsoft Office (Excel is a must). Experience using Microsoft Teams, a plus.
