After browsing our careers page, simply hit APPLY on the position(s) of interest. You will receive a confirmation email once your application is completed.
Corporate: Each position is assigned to a specific recruiter. The designated recruiter will monitor the job for new applicants and will review your resume based on the role’s requirements. If you are selected to move through the process, the recruiter will contact you to outline the next steps. If we are not moving forward with your candidacy, you will receive an email but may be contacted for other positions that align with your experience(s).

Step 2: Let's Talk!
Corporate: Interviews will start with a recruiter contacting you followed by 2-3 rounds of conversations. You can expect interviews to potentially be a combination of phone, video and on-site.
Retail: Interviews for store positions may start with a Store Manager, Recruiting Specialist or a Talent Scout contacting you followed by 2-4 rounds of conversations. You can expect interviews to potentially be a combination of phone, video and on-site.
Corporate: The Recruiter interview will begin with an email or phone call from the recruiter to introduce themselves, share more about Talbots, the position, and learn more about you and your interests.
Retail: The Store Manager, Recruiting Specialist or Talent Scout interview will begin with an email or phone call to introduce themselves, share more about Talbots, the positions and learn more about your interests.
You should be familiar with our brand. Visit a local store if feasible or take some time to explore Talbots.com. Review the job description for the position you are interviewing. Consider how your current position relates to our position and provide clear examples of the work you have done; problems you have solved and changes you have influenced. Prepare some thoughtful questions to close out the interview.
Corporate: The culture has certainly shifted here at Talbots and while we would love to meet each of you in-person, we cannot always guarantee that your interview team will be on-site. Most corporate interviews will be done virtually. For positions that require an onsite work schedule, you may be invited to interview in-person in one of our corporate office locations.
Retail: For in-store positions, you will have an on-site interview.

Corporate: Our recruiting team and hiring managers meet regularly. You can expect a follow-up from your recruiter after the interview to determine a specific timeline for a decision. In some instances, you will be one of our first interviews and there are other candidates to consider within the process. We do our best to move quickly as we can for the best talent.

Step 3: Get Started!
Corporate: Welcome! The recruiter will send you a link to submit references, information to run a background check (when applicable) and you’ll receive a quick video from our team to you!
Retail: The Store Manager will call you to set up a time start your pre-hire paperwork, or you will receive an email containing your pre-hire paperwork to complete.
Corporate: Our recruiting coordinator will contact you with a few tasks such as completing your Onboarding Paperwork in Workday (HR System), as well as the details outlining your day 1 experience.
Retail: The District Director or Store Manager will set up your new hire learning journey.
Apart from New York City, we do not require vaccination for employment, but we encourage all our associates to make the best choice for themselves and their families.
Corporate: Our corporate offices are fully open. The pandemic has changed the culture of how we get work done. For some teams, working on-site is a requirement due to the nature of their work. For others, we are working via a hybrid model with collaboration office days and there are also instances where we have fully remote associate or teams. This is an expectation that should be discussed during the interview process.
Retail: You will report to your assigned store for your 1st day.
Corporate: Whether joining us on-site or virtually, we are committed to a smooth onboarding process. We kick-off the day with our HR team learning about Talbots culture and history. Your manager and HR team will provide you with a 90 Day New Hire Journey as you get acclimated to the company and culture of Talbots.
Retail: We kick-off the day meeting the store team, getting a store tour, learning about Talbot’s culture and history. You will meet with your manager for orientation and review your new hire Learning Journey and Learning roadmaps while getting you acclimated to your available resources.
