Position Title: Mgr Print & Pattern

External Description:

This position is responsible for working closely with the Sr. Manager of Print and Pattern with the creation, development, and execution of seasonal prints, patterns and color from concept through production. The Manager will train, develop, and supervise 1-2 Assistant to Associate level team members. The print team acts as a creative liaison between Design, Merchandising, Product Development, Sourcing, CAD, Fabric Research & Development, and Technical Design teams in the creation of prints that are both brand appropriate and technically ready for production.

The salary range is $70,000 - $85,000

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with Design team, CAD team, and outside studios/artists to develop focused and cohesive prints that are brand appropriate to sit within the collection.
  • Communicate with CAD team throughout the print package creation process and advise how to create CAD artwork/repeats/technical print information/engineered artwork measurements based on fabric and mill limitations within calendar deadlines.
  • Create and maintain seasonal print chart, including ready dates of sample yardage, approval status, print placement, and any additional information specific to print.
  • Manage color comments/approvals on print submits, strike off/bulk submits in a timely fashion.
  • Train, develop, and manage assistant to associate level team members, and participate in annual as well as consistent performance appraisals.
  • Work closely with Sr. Manager on team priorities, delegation, and organization. 
  • Partner with Sourcing, Product Development, and Fabric Research & Development to determine allocation of prints to specific factories/countries and to problem solve any bulk print issues.
  • Clearly and accurately communicate and resolve print issues/concerns/updates to cross-functional teams and overseas partners verbally and through detailed emails.
  • Collaborate with overseas partners to troubleshoot specific challenges with print development/execution.
  • Create presentation print boards and color cards for key Concept and Line Presentation meetings.
  • Update/maintain print quality reference books, with swatches, fabric detail sheets, and print quality limitations charts.

Who You Are:

  • College Degree and 5+ years’ experience in textiles and/or design.
  • Ability to interpret aesthetic design inspiration into production ready patterns.
  • Technical expertise in prints, color matching and creation of color ways.
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful, problem solve, be flexible and collaborative.
  • Ability to act as a creative liaison between Design, Merchant and Product Development teams.
  • Must be culturally aware and able to work with global partners.
  • Extremely detail oriented with a strong sense of design.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, collaborative work environment.
  • PC proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook. Working knowledge of MS Teams, a plus.
  • Intermediate to strong proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator preferred.
