Who You Are:

  • Embody the leadership and interpersonal savvy needed to navigate and influence various members of Talbots field leadership, specifically the GM, DD, RVP and RVM.
  • Driven to create, build and cultivate relationships at all levels within the organization and your store team.
  • Have 3 to 5 years of specialty retail experience in visual merchandising, fashion, and leadership.
  • Able to create an elevated brand experience through visual merchandising through the merchandising cycle.
  • Able to interpret and translate visual strategies/trends with the ability to recognize the direct impact to store sales and customer experiences.
  • Possess the technological competency to navigate a computer/iPad/handheld system.
  • Have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Able to work cooperatively in a diverse work environment.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, moving around regularly, and standing for extended periods of time.
  • Able to bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 55 lbs.
  • Can work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Have open availability up to and including 40 hours per week.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for driving the business specifically as it relates to merchandising principles and other operational activities in partnership with your SM/GM.
  • Stay abreast of the competitive landscape, fashion trends and business drivers to strategically identify opportunities that will maximize sales and ensure financial goals are achieved.
  • Reinforce consistent operational standards through education, coaching, training, and accountability based on individual strengths/opportunities.
  • Create a collaborative, team environment where all associates are held accountable and proud to uphold the same standards, policies and procedures.
  • Plan and prioritize tasks and responsibilities to meet the needs of the business. Lead the execution of merchandising strategy.
  • Source and recruit external talent as well as consistently evaluate and identify internal talent to create a highly skilled visual merchandising team.
  • Model sales and service excellence creating a selling culture where all associates align around the interests/needs of our customers.
