Position Title: Senior Tax Analyst

External Description:

The Senior Tax Analyst will be a key member of the Talbots corporate tax team, focused on supporting the Federal, State, Canadian, and local income tax compliance process.  The senior tax analyst will also be a fundamental part of the tax accounting and tax planning functions.  The individual will interact with tax team members from other brands, staff from other areas of finance, and external tax advisors.

This position is based in Hingham, MA with a hybrid schedule.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare corporate Federal, State, Canadian, and local income tax returns, extension requests, quarterly estimated payments, and all supporting workpapers
  • Maintain tax calendar to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Respond to tax notices and tax audit information requests
  • Prepare tax adjustments for monthly tax provisions and year-end financial statements
  • Maintain detailed analysis of tax accounts
  • Research tax technical issues and write memos on Federal, State, and Canadian tax issues
  • Assist in forecasting cash tax payments

Who You Are:

  • Education:
    •  Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. CPA/MST preferred.
  • Experience 
    • 2 or more years public accounting or corporate tax experience
  • Skills
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required; Experience in OneSource/GoSystems, Checkpoint, Oracle, and Hyperion preferred
    • Attention to detail and well organized
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Dedication and good work ethic
