Position Title: Sr Mgr Sourcing

External Description:

The Sr. Manager of Product Development & Production will work under the direction of the Director of Sourcing, Product Development, Production. The manager may assist in Handbags, Belts and Small Leather Goods management as needed and requested. This role will service the Cross Functional Team expectations and deliverables to achieve product aesthetic, quality, fit, and financial profitability, and works collaboratively with Design, Merchant, and other internal and external business partners.

This is a hybrid position and will be expected to work in the Talbot’s Creative Studio NYC office minimum of 3+ days per week, or up to full week in the NY office as the business needs require.

The salary range for this role is $90,000 - $110,000

What You’ll Do:

• PL Calendar – understand and adhere to Corporate Product Life Cycle Calendar.
• Seasonal Internal calendar – understand, adhere, monitor seasonal calendar deliverables from CFT counterparts and external business partners.
• Frameworks – monitor seasonal quantity of Design Development Tech pack’s issued against frameworks, quantify development ratios, alert supervisor with findings to assure adherence to frameworks and seasonal development needs, avoid over development.
• Maintain and Manage clear documentation:
• CFT Charts – create, update, manage weekly Cross Functional Seasonal Management Charts.
• Sample Tracking Charts x season – create and manage with design and Agents.
• Weekly WIP Report & Production management– manage with Agents monitoring and adhering to on time deliverables.
• Weekly floor set – review and track for on time deliveries.
• Costing analysis
• Participate and assist in footwear pre-costing, seasonal cost analysis and value engineering products to maintain financial goals.
• Post LP cost analysis - review cost factors based on Cost Breakdown Sheets per style and key cost drivers.
• Establish fact-based targets per styles, construction based on Fact based analysis to achieve the Seasonal Financial goals per department.
• Style by Style / Style Detail meeting set up and management
• Set up SxS meeting post Line Presentation to review adopted styles aesthetic details.
• Set up Post Line Presentation Meetings with Design to pass of Tech packs for final costing and definition of production details for the style.                                   
• Color Meetings – set up and facilitate Seasonal Leather and Fabric color meetings with the objective of matching the Seasonal coordinating product categories Footwear, Handbags, Belts, Small leather Goods.
• Schedule Fit meetings, Work with Model, Design and External Business Partners in fit sessions to achieve desired closure.
• Ability to implement technical Women’s footwear fitting criteria and solutions.
• Manage Fit Comments with External Business Partners.

Who You Are:

• 8+ years experience in Footwear in production, product development and technical fit.
• Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university.
• Prior experience managing a team.
• A strong technical understanding of footwear and knowledge of raw materials and components.
• Knowledge of leather, synthetic, and textiles.
• Proven experience with the entire design process.
• Proficient knowledge in PLM systems.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Experience in costing/cost engineering.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-channel environment.
