Position Title: Sample Room Representative

External Description:

Basic Purpose:

 

Responsible for executing controlled receiving procedures for samples in excess of 200,000 units received at Corporate Headquarters. Ensure all samples are scanned and filed appropriately and that a full and comprehensive library of merchandise styles in excess of 90,000 units is retained for current and future use.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

 

  • Open, hang, receive, and file over 200,000 samples annually. Print and scan sample tickets and receive units into the Sample Tracker Ensure required sample information is entered into Sample Tracker System accurately and timely for future use by Merchandising Division.

 

  • File and maintain organized merchandise sample steel for use by merchandising associates.

 

  • Prepare over 150,000 sample units for sale for Sample Sale. Ensure all readied garments are saleable and comply with US Customs regulations.

 

  • Support the shoe area ensuring there is ample space for new receipts and that returns are filed back accurately and timely for each season. Establishing and moving shoe libraries to designated area of Sample Room.

 

  • Work with Merchandising Team to ensure the needs of each merchandising division are met. This includes assisting with maintenance of certain large divisions, thinning out and removing older samples from steel. Monitoring that each division is following the clean out schedule and that each line is current to maximize room on each line.

 

  • Accurately and timely filing back sample rolling rack returns from Cat, Web, Visual, and Quad.

 

  • Ensure the established Sample Room standards are maintained in Sample Room.

 

  • Lifting and distributing large cartons of merchandise and hangers, throughout the Sample Room on a frequent basis.

 

  • Assist with the Sample Boutique with replenishment, maintenance, and hanger removal

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Requires knowledge normally acquired through the completion of a High School diploma
  • 6 months – 1 year of related experience, preferably in a retail organization
  • Outstanding communication and organization skills are a must
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word required
