As the Director of Marketing Operations, you will play a central role in leading the process and managing work-flow across the end-to-end Marketing functions. In this role, you will:

  • Build strong relationships with cross functional partners and functional experts to drive continuous process improvements and efficiencies
  • Be responsible for leading seasonal planning and business changes
  • Manage and develop three teams within the Marketing Organization (Project Management, Graphic Production, Print Production) through an active, hands-on approach to team and individual development
  • Lead cross-functional teams to help identify and evaluate critical priorities and/or opportunities for efficiency (i.e., systems, software, staffing), and to catalyze action against these priorities

Doing all this requires a unique individual. You must be a self-starter, flexible thinker, adaptive and an outstanding communicator, as well as comfortable working cross-functionally and influencing different personalities and perspectives across all levels of the organization. Success will depend on your ability to quickly form/build relationships with colleagues and deliver flawless results on time and within budget. 

Critical Skills: 

  • Ability to diagnose, assess and determine solutions for complex milestone deliverables to support a cohesive marketing and creative brand expression across stores, site, email, social
  • Must be a functional expert who leads the team through the customer experience by keeping deliverables on track and removing barriers along the way
  • Leads the monitoring and communicating of progress on deliverables, while identifying and ensuring resolution of risks and issues in a timely fashion
  • Own meeting facilitation / active issue resolution – facilitate small and large cross-functional team discussions (e.g. deliverable status, issue resolution, strategy discussions)
  • Highly adept in budget analysis/cost reductions
  • Influence decision-making across multiple leadership levels to gain cross functional alignment to achieve on time execution of projects
  • Creative problem solver and solution-oriented
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional style that stimulates a sense of collaboration and accountability that produces results

Change management experience and expertise is critical.  12 - 15 years experience is required.  Prior team management experience is a mandatory.

Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with the company calendar to ensure the marketing and creative teams are working on appropriate timelines to ensure the process is optimized & critical dates are met
  • Manages the Project Management, Marketing Production & Graphic Production Departments to ensure all projects (catalog, digital, collateral), store programs and photography needs meet production schedules, cost estimates, and Talbotsquality standards and objectives
  • Manages critical relationships with outside vendors, including paper merchants, prepress suppliers, catalog & collateral printers, asset/delivery management tools
  • Negotiates long-term print contracts for the catalog business, retail & direct mail businesses
  • Full oversight of asset management tools, systems, operations
  • Accountable for the overall operational efficiency and productivity for the macro Marketing organization
