Position Title: Sr Mgr Finance

External Description:

This position is responsible for serving as the primary finance partner for the Company Planning department and Haven Well Within business. The role will be responsible for working with business partners to coordinate budget planning, forecasting, reporting, and business analysis.

What You'll Do:

  • Finance partner to Company Planning department, supporting all aspects of sales and margin
    • Weekly flash reporting based on performance updates
    • Coordination with Company Planning on forecast updates, development of seasonal budgets, etc.
    • Monthly KPI reporting around key sales and margin drivers for Talbots and Haven by channel (Retail, Outlet, Direct) – traffic, conversion, average unit retail and cost, etc.
    • Understand promotional calendar and impact on comparability to budget and prior years
    • Analysis of sales and margin by product / lifestyle categories
    • Potential involvement in sales and margin reserves – returns reserve, clearance assumptions, etc.
    • General understanding of inventory on hand by channel and brand moment – inventory buy, cost assumptions, inventory levels, receipts, etc.

 

  • Finance partner supporting the Haven Well Within business
    • Responsible for semi-annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and monthly reporting of results
    • Financial lead on long range planning in coordination with Haven team
    • Business cases to support marketing initiatives, real estate opportunities, etc.
    • Develop standardized KPI reporting around business
    • Ad hoc analysis around business performance, customer acquisition, etc.
    • Ad hoc analysis / additional responsibilities as needed
    • Assistance with quarterly lender and board reporting, as needed
    • Assistance with financial view on rolling 3 year sales and margin forecast

Who You Are:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting or finance discipline; CPA or MBA a plus
  • 10+ years of finance experience, with exposure to accounting and FP&A ideally in a Retail environment
  • Significant exposure to budgeting and forecasting process
  • Experience preparing executive level presentations along with experience communicating at executive level
  • Innovative thinker with strong desire to improve process and streamline workflow
  • Detail oriented with highly developed problem solving skills and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and effectively prioritize to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality
  • Experience with Hyperion and Oracle is preferred but not required
