Position Title: Customer Analytics Analyst

External Description:

The Analyst is responsible for delivering quantitative analysis of customer behavior and actionable recommendations to drive companywide business initiatives. In this position you will partner with the Sr. Director to answer key questions by developing the appropriate quantitative approach, applying statistical measures and analyses, and presenting findings and recommendations. A successful candidate is self-motivated, capable of taking on projects with increasing levels of complexity, and possesses a strong quantitative background.

What You’ll Do:
• Leverage your knowledge of analytics to develop Talbots’ understanding of customer behavior and incentives, answering key questions and supporting business decision making for marketing, merchandising, loyalty, CRM, and store initiatives
• Work closely with business partners to deliver actionable customer insights derived from quantitative analysis to drive omni-channel customer retention, reactivation, and acquisition strategies
• Maintain customer lifetime value (CLV) and subsequent value (SVA) models to optimize return-on-investment (ROI) of marketing investments. Inputs may include acquisition channel, order channel, historical transactions, customer attributes, and external data
• Analyze test results and consult on design and evaluation – including power sampling techniques and determining statistical significance (chi-square, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, etc.)
• Participate in the advancement of targeting techniques and CRM strategies to strengthen relationships with our customers

Who You Are:
• Bachelors degree in applied math, statistics, engineering, economics, computer science (or similar).
• 2+ years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency in query language such as SQL or equivalent.
• Proficiency with MS office suite from a data analysis standpoint (advanced excel, pivot tables, etc.)
• Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, or equivalent.
• Experience with statistical significance techniques such as t-test, ANOVA, correlation, or others.
• Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem solving skills.
