Position Title: Ecomm DevOps and Performance Engineer Lead

External Description:

This position will be based remotely.

As a member of our Ecommerce Support and Performance team, the candidate will be responsible to help ensure maximum availability of the Talbots SFCC website and supporting infrastructure.  The candidate will communicate and help resolve operational issues.  The candidate will also research and identify gaps in site performance, leading to the improvement of the overall customer experience.

 This position will act in a leadership capacity to the L1/L2 support staff, and on projects assigned to them.  This position will also be responsible for ensuring management is informed of issues impacting the production or development sites, as well as, reporting status of projects. This position will also assist in post implementation support and system enhancements.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the support team in maintaining all SFCC production, development, staging, and sandbox environments, maximizing availability and scalability of all components.
  • Lead the continual evaluation of site performance through the development and monitoring of site performance reports.
  • Lead the support team in the timely execution of business requests affecting production and non-production environments.
  • Lead and monitor production application deployments.
  • Lead infrastructure and platform deployments across on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Lead configuration and management of Akamai, Dynatrace, Quantum Metric, and site monitoring and site configuration tools.
  • Perform support and troubleshooting activities, including research and resolution of hardware, operating system, storage, network, performance, application issues, and 3rd party APIs.
  • Perform end to end POCs to help evaluate new tools and technologies to improve site performance, site functionality, and site security.
  • Lead L1 and L2 support team in resolving production issues as it relates to application server and related tools and deployed code.
  • Lead in the development of new processes and procedures for the support team.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Information Systems or related field or equivalent experience
  • Typically has 7 to 10 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years within ecommerce operations supporting Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC)
  • Ability to perform basic troubleshooting of JavaScript and API’s
  • Knowledge of programming and scripting languages (previous programming experience a plus)
  • Expert in version control practices (Git, Subversion)
  • Expert in working with cloud environments
  • Knowledge of performance and security monitoring and maintenance tools, such as Dynatrace, Quantum Metric, and Perimeter X
  • Solid understanding of Internet protocol concepts (IP, TCP, HTTP, DNS, SSL/TLS)
  • Experience using Akamai Control Center a plus
  • Knowledge in network configurations like Subnet, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Ability to lead and mentor a remote (on-shore and off-shore) support team
  • Experience in utilizing technologies to prevent and address vulnerabilities (DDoS attacks, XSS, SQL injections, etc.)
  • Familiar with agile project management, working in a Scrum team, and scrum processes
  • Ability to communicate accurately and professionally, both in writing and verbally
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical jargon into business impact
  • Ability to set goals and meet deadlines
  • Ability to cooperate, collaborate, and be supportive of peers
  • Ability to be seen as a trusted partner, delivering on commitments, admit mistakes and grow from each experience  
  • Excellent analytic, problem-solving skills, and business acumen
