Position Title: Assoc Mgr Fabric R&D

External Description:

Basic Purpose:

This position is responsible for assisting the Sr. Director with the development and execution of seasonal fabric assortments from concept through production.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Align with manager in sourcing and developing fabrics to meet our brand aesthetic and corporate IMU goals
• Order Sample Yardage
• Collect and check fabric detail sheets for accuracy/concerns
• Responsible for updating and maintaining SCM
• Maintain and organize fabric library
• Set bulk fabric standards and create bulk archives
• Research global, domestic, and competitive markets to identify new trends and attend local fabric shows
• Be the point person for scheduling mill appointments 
• Collaborate with Product Integrity/Quality Assurance team during seasonal sample testing to highlight potential issues and identify possible solutions
• Adhere to calendar to ensure all deliverables are met for milestone meetings
• Communicate fabric issues/concerns/updates to cross-functional teams and overseas partners
• Manages other responsibilities and projects, as assigned

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

• College Degree and 3+ years’ experience in fabric 
• Experience working in wovens and sweaters
• Knowledge of fabric constructions and dye processes
• Must have excellent communication and presentation skills
• Excellent organizational skills and time management skills are necessary
• Ability to be resourceful and troubleshoot, as well as flexible and collaborative
• Ability to act as a creative liaison between design, merchant, and product development team 
• Must be culturally aware and able to work with global partners
• Ability to be a self-motivator, proactive, and able to take direction
• PC proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Photoshop
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Teams, a plus
