Position Title: Technology Manager Order Management System

External Description:

Basic Purpose: 

This role is responsible for delivering technology and business solutions for Talbots using the MANH MAO (Manhattan Active Omni) order management system and suite of services. These services and role responsibilities have direct impact on day to day sales, service and operations for Talbots. Must be a proven team leader with critical thinking skills and should have a proven track record in managing diverse projects delivering against tight deadlines in a fast paced and demanding environment. The role demands a strong a sense of urgency as well as communication skills to ensure the team is quality, results and outcomes focused. Ability to handle ambiguity and create opportunity from complexity is necessary. The ideal candidate is an industry subject matter expert with MANH Suite of Applications and will have experience with digital channels, Omni-channel eco-systems and integrated back-end systems with a depth of knowledge in enabling technologies such as: Front-end Web Technologies, Order Management Systems, Middleware Technologies, CRM and Supply Chain.

 

Principal Accountabilities

  • Be the Order Management System Subject Matter Expert - Take on a product leadership role related to Talbots investments: advising on system designs, implementing new capabilities, processes and associated management metrics  
  • Provide perspective from your industry experience on how Talbots should operate: what processes should we further standardize or differentiate to build the best-in-class user experienc
  • Collaborate with business and technical partners to develop a product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the order management platform  
  • Develop solutions for complex order management problems such as - order fulfillment logic, least cost algorithms, advanced scheduling and allocation, and integration to external or legacy platforms
  • Drive decisions across cross-functional teams in both the technical and operational areas
  • Must be able to take a “Big Picture” view when needed - ensure creation of new system processes integrate effectively into the existing Talbots landscape and do not impact business operations
  • Take ownership and drive accountability - own the journey to successful execution and continued evolution of the order management functions
  • Flexibly to move between Technology Manager, Engineering Manager, and Technical Product Manager as required by the situation at hand, leaning on the experts where needed but never allowing forward progress to slow – getting into the details and quickly get out of the details
  • Maintain the Order Management enhancement backlog - evaluate projects or enhancements that will improve overall customer experience (internal and external) as well as drive new revenue opportunities and/or lower costs
  • Research and prepare recommendations - including presentations, data analysis & supporting metrics, process maps, business requirement documents and change impact analyses
  • Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners to ensure a cohesive product and working environment

Number of Direct Reports and Titles:

2-4 Direct Reports – Technical Configuration Lead, Technical Configurations Analyst, Technical Developer (extensions)

 

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 8-10 years of programming experience
  • 5+ years experience as a Product Manager or Technical Program Manager with 3+ years experience working on order management systems, inventory management systems or equivalent technologies
  • Proven Leadership and Management experience and track record of successfully deploying OM processes enabled by systems solutions
  • Industry subject matter expert with MANH Suite of Applications and experience with digital channels, Omni-channel eco-systems and integrated back-end systems with a depth of knowledge in enabling technologies such as: Front-end Web Technologies, Order Management Systems, Middleware Technologies, CRM and Supply Chain
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
  • Experience incorporating user feedback and business strategy to craft long term product roadmap and vision
  • Strong vendor management skills
  • Track-record of building credibility and trust with key stakeholders to align multiple teams and deliver on strategic initiatives
  • Keen problem-solving skills, ability to deal with complex situations and recommend a technical or business solution
  • Must be flexible and able to respond to rapid change in order to meet business needs
  • Ability, to learn new technology and stay abreast of current technical trends
  • Ability to translate business needs into creative technological solutions
