Position Title: Technology Analyst II

External Description:

Basic Purpose:

Responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and support of Talbots’ Intel server and UNIX systems as well as data storage platforms. Provides support in maintaining service levels, performance monitoring and disaster recovery needs for all servers including Corporate, Stores and Ecommerce environments.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) on approximately nine (9) or more products within the responsibility of Technology Services:
• • Support the Talbots’ Technology Services infrastructure ensuring that the needs of the Business are met
  • Maintain existing technology infrastructure based on PCI policies and procedures (Patch Management, configuration, hardening, etc.)
  • Track performance metrics of maintained products; identify potential capacity issues and resolve or recommend changes or products necessary to meet business requirements 
  • Adhere to Talbots’ Change Control policies and procedures
  • Adhere to issue resolution policies and procedures
  • Meet project deliverables for new and / or changes to existing technology within project requirements
  • Maintain technology documentation and ensure adequate cross-training to team members
  • Provide 24/7 on-call support
• Acts as a mentor to other team members
• • Develop and document best practices for all products
  • Develop and document issue resolution knowledge base
  • Recommend new software / technology
• Identify new opportunities that:
• • Reduce costs while maintaining adequate functionality and support
  • Improve technology performance and / or stability
  • Improve existing processes therefore reducing effort or increasing productivity

 

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience 
• 5+ years in field implementation and/or support experience required 
• Must have extensive experience in the following technologies: HP, Microsoft Windows Operating Systems and its applications (including but not limited to Active Directory, Clustering, Certificate Services, Network Load Balancing, DNS, WINS, SMS (SCCM), UNIX, Virtualization experience, Enterprise Class Storage Systems, SQL basic scripting and basic switching technology understanding
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• Must possess the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
