POSITION SUMMARY:

At Talbots, we help our customers look and feel their best. The Talbots Regional Project Manager (RPM) supports stores and districts within the region on key initiatives determined by the Regional Director. The RPM is a role model for creating exceptional customer experiences and building enduring relationships both internally and externally. The RPM is responsible for collaborating with the DM and

SM to create exceptional experiences for our customers and minimize everyday operational burdens that impede the business from moving forward within our stores.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Leadership:

  • Model professionalism, strong work ethic, integrity and respect for others creating an environment that positions Talbots as an employer of
  • Alleviate the demands and pain points of everyday store operations by supporting select stores or districts with operating and/or selling energy. This includes visual merchandising, networking, recruiting or other strategic projects as determined by the Regional Director.
  • Model exceptional customer service and relationship-building behaviors to drive cross-functional collaboration on regional projects including, but not limited to, store renovations, visual merchandising, coaching and development, on-boarding, hiring, and interviewing.
  • Create a collaborative, team environment where all associates regard the RPM as a trusted resource who is aligned with the region’s leadership and has the best interest of the business and our customer in mind at all times.
  • Strategic partner with the flexibility to traverse all store functions and solve for issues as they arise.


Business Acumen:

  • Exhibit sound operational processes and procedures to assess individual or group store performance, identify core business inhibitors, and align with the RD to solve for those issues in order to keep our exceptional customer experience intact.
  • Stay abreast of the business and competitive landscape, fashion trends and key business drivers to strategically identify opportunities that will maximize sales and ensure financial goals are

 

Sales and Service:

  • Model sales and service excellence creating a selling culture where all associates align around the needs of our customers.
  • Use company resources and personal leadership to influence and facilitate a strong selling environment.
  • Exhibit knowledge of industry trends and competitive activity and share this knowledge with the team.
  • Professionally represent the brand image at all times and in all places.

 

Operations:

  • Influence all areas of operational
  • Assess store needs and collaborate with the DM and SM in solving for deficiencies. This includes supporting networking and recruiting needs, managing day-to-day store operations, providing visual merchandising support, and, most importantly, helping our customers to look and feel their best.
  • Protect company assets and maintain a safe work
  • Ensure compliance of all company policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal employment laws.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five years of leadership experience Specialty retailing experience preferred.
  • Strong operations and sales experience required with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance
  • Expertise in visual merchandising experience required.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business including opening/closing shifts as well as weekends and
  • An essential function of the job is the ability to move about in a store including standing, walking, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, using stairs, carrying, bending, stretching, twisting, or reaching out with the body, arms, or legs, pulling and lifting objects up to 40 Sometimes these movements are made quickly and repeatedly.
  • Basic knowledge in computer skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook), tablet/mobile devices and social media.
  • Able to work cooperatively in a diverse work
