Position Title: Infrastructure Architect

External Description:

Basic Purpose:  

Responsible for the design, implementation and support of Talbots’ open systems, virtualization\cloud technologies and storage networks. Provides support in maintaining service levels, performance monitoring and disaster recovery needs for all servers including Corporate, Stores and Ecommerce environments.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

• Implement and support the Talbots’ Technology Services Infrastructure, which includes but not limited to Azure, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, VMWare and EMC\Kaminario storage platforms.
• Responsible for the design, system analysis, security and administration of a heterogeneous Windows and Linux RedHat enterprise environment. Conducts end-to-end technical plan design.
• Drives short & long-term architecture strategy for IT infrastructure. Communicates and validates infrastructure architecture with the technology services management team.
• Provides third level support for incidents and problems.
• Track performance metrics of maintained products; identify potential capacity issues and resolve or recommend changes or products necessary to meet business requirements.
• Adhere to Talbots’ Change Control policies and procedures.
• Adhere to issue resolution policies and procedures, including but not limited to the monitoring of the Technology Services Ticket queue.
• Meet project deliverables for new and / or changes to existing technology within project requirements.
• Develop and document issue resolution knowledge base.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support.
• Identify new opportunities that reduce costs while maintaining adequate functionality and support, improve technology performance and / or stability and improve existing processes therefore reducing effort or increasing productivity.

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

• Knowledge at a level normally acquired by the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 5+ years in senior level or higher engineer role and/or support experience required.
• Must have minimum of 1-year direct hands on experience in Azure.
• Must have extensive experience with the following technologies: Cloud Technologies (Azure\Office365 required), VMWare (VCP certifications preferred), Nutanix (certifications preferred), Microsoft Windows Operating systems, Active Directory, DNS, LDAP, powershell\bash scripting\automation and Storage Administration.
• Good to have experience with Rubrik, Zerto, SCCM, Cisco UCS, Red Hat Enterprise 6.x and 7.x, Microsoft Hyper-V, EMC and Kaminario SANs and Brocade Fiber Switches. A technical understanding of the Network layer / topologies.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must possess the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously
