Position Title: Mgr Accounting

External Description:

Primary Purpose:
The Accounting Manager will work directly with the Director of Accounting & Finance with regular interaction with FP&A and the CFO. This position will manage various accounting functions that are responsible for the application of GAAP on moderate and complex business issues and the monthly close and reconciliation process. The position will also be responsible for providing adaptable assistance across the finance department to support the business community and various needs within the organization. This role will allow an individual to utilize their accounting skills in a stimulating environment while gaining great experience and exposure across the finance team.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage a team responsible for aspects of the month-end close process, and review month-end closing activities such as balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Ensure that all systems changes and/or modifications made to applications conform to departmental processing and control requirements 
  • Work independently on special projects and their impact to the Company including moderate to complex technical accounting transactions, implementation of new systems 
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial budgets in accordance with our established schedule and with inputs from the finance department and business partners
  • Produce meaningful and insightful analysis using data from financial systems to assist peers with understanding the business problem presented
  • Assist with preparation of the financial statements and related notes
  • Coordinate and assist with external auditors 
  • Support all levels of management satisfying their needs for information, analysis, systems support and responses to accounting inquiries

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field 
  • 7-10 years of progressive industry, or public accounting experience with CPA/MBA preferred 
  • Hands-on experience with ERP Systems (Oracle, preferred) and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Aptitude for learning new systems
  • Well-developed interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day to day activities 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong managerial and organizational skills are essential
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently while maintaining upward communication
