Position Title: Project Manager

Basic Purpose:

As a Project Manager at Talbots, you will be responsible for driving/managing omni-channel processes and workflow to ensure highly functioning creative and marketing teams. You will work in close partnership with the creative/marketing resources as you oversee and track the calendar, resourcing, and project prioritization for your team. You are responsible for managing project schedules to meet deadlines and ensuring all work is consistent with our brand standards. In your role you will coordinate all information pertaining to production and workflow with the Creative and Marketing team and with other Cross Functional teams such as Merchandising, Visual, Print Production, Graphic Production, Studio and Store Operations. Responsibilities include building and maintaining interdepartmental relationships, workflow management, scheduling, process improvement and managing vendor relationships.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Serve as the core contact for all projects within your assigned channel. Communicate and track project updates regularly to the team and business owners.
  • Track in detail all stages of each project from concept to release to insure all projects are delivered on time and meet the objective outlined in the brief.
  • Schedule, prepare for and lead key meetings and reviews, document discussions and progress
  • Review all assets that are part of your projects to ensure the business goal has been met.
  • Prepare and track assets for release
  • Responsible for circulating copies of assets at each stages of production for approval by both internal and external parties, and for accurately incorporating corrections and requested changes.
  • Oversee with Manager and Project Management team members status report for up-to-date information, accuracy and cross-checking with other critical departmental reports. 
  • Identify and communicate conflicts and offer resolutions to the issues to keep the workflow moving.
  • Look for project connections across channels, share information from related or recent projects
  • Share knowledge, experience and skill with other project management staff. The ability of inviting perspective and diverse points of view into the work flow is key to achieving results.
  • Serve as liaison between Creative/Marketing and Cross Functional teams like Visual, Merchandising, Merchandise Planning, Web Merchandising, Email Marketing and Marketing as to the status of projects, and to aid in the resolution of conflicts.
  • Maintain art files and archives
  • Identify opportunities to innovate and improve our processes within project management and cross-functionally and be the lead to implement new workflows to the team.
  • Create and maintain process documentation and training documentation for our assigned channels.

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 – 5 years’ experience in a project management, e-commerce/ retail or agency role is preferred.
  • Self-starter who is highly organized and detail oriented. 
  • Solid project management skills and ability to articulate goals and objectives. 
  • Strong collaboration, communications and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work in a rapidly changing, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing work priorities, demands, and changes. 
  • Strong collaborative working relationships with cross functional teams and external resources. 
  • Ability to motivate others, deal with ambiguity, and effectively collaborate in decision-making.
  • Current knowledge of fashion and fashion retailing industry.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
