Basic Purpose:

The role of the Director, Creative Copy and Brand Voice at Talbots is responsible for developing, delivering and driving the creative voice for the Talbots brand as well as all related Talbots businesses.  This role requires an innovator, tasked with driving the development and growth of a best in class Copy department.  The Director will play a key role among the executive team and will need to be confident and capable of juggling several projects, personalities and priorities on a regular basis.  They will be a mentor, manager and motivator with in the Talbots Brand cross functionally and with-in the Marketing department. Talbots is seeking a leader who has qualities that include but not limited to intellectual curiosity, strategic creative vision, determination, drive, self-confidence, positivity and team collaboration.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, deliver and drive the creative vision and voice for the Talbots brand as well as generating new ideas, campaigns and strategies for all Talbots businesses.
  • Influence, motivate and activate the working teams on delivering the creative campaigns and assets with passion, determination and excitement across all channels including but not limited to Print, Retail, Digital, Social, PR and Human Resources.
  • Provide inspiration, leadership and creative vision across the Copy team as well as the Creative, Marketing and Operations departments in order to consistently maintain an edge over the competition while always surprising and delighting our customer.
  • Attract, develop and retain creative talent as well as ensure the department is running as efficiently as possible in order to meet the business objectives and making strategic organization decisions as necessary.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to deliver innovative creative solutions.
  • Foster outstanding internal and external relationships through creative and conceptual thought leadership and partnerships.
  • Possess expert written and verbal communication skills as well as highly polished presentation skills.
  • Understand, challenge and influence existing processes in order to streamline systems and create a more effective work environment.
  • Implement new processes in order to ensure cross functional working teams are as efficient as possible.
  • Must be highly motivated leader and a passionate people person.

 

 

 

 

 

Skills

 

  • 10+ years related experience leading the creative vision for an omni channel brand with a background in copy writing, brand strategy and campaign storytelling.
  • Solid management experience and able to lead and develop a seasoned copy team.
  • Ability to communicate with Senior Management, business owners and industry experts.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong management skills required.
  • Proven results in creative copy, ideation and execution.
