Position Title: Director IT Operations

External Description:

As Director of IT Operations you will be responsible setting the strategy and overseeing the 24/7 Tier 2 support and operations of IT systems, applications, and infrastructure. By partnering with application development, infrastructure teams and other IT teams support organizations you will be responsible for instilling a culture of operational excellence that drives continual improvement through reduced frequency and duration of service interruptions.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Create partnerships application development, infrastructure teams and other IT teams support organizations with Service/Application owners and Develop Talbots’ Application Support operating strategies, model and standards. 
  • Ensure IT operations follows standardized operations and support methods, procedures, and policies leveraging ITIL. 
  • Develop and manage incident management , problem management, change management, event management, and request management processes
  • Ensures support strategies, model and standards aligns with overall business goals and related scorecards. 
  • You will forecast and track to a service budget and present budget recommendations as appropriate to meet business and Technology requirements.
  • Develop service delivery performance based SLA’s that meet business expectations and drive attainment.
  • Provide and ensure 24/7 production support and SLA achievement.
  • Serve as a point of escalation and communication for IT staff, stakeholders, and executive leadership, while also communicating project and delivery status.
  • Taking a metric based approach to drive continuous improvement through a balanced approach to reduced frequency and duration of service interruptions, maximizing resources (both technical and people), utilization and cost.
  • Partner with service/application owners to support their projects to implement change and enable the production support capabilities that support these changes, while ensuring proper transition to your support team.
  • You will manage service requests, prioritization, and coordinate planned delivery schedules for request fulfillment with Release Mgt.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or experience commiserate
  • 10+ years' experience in a leadership role of a team, including team management and coaching, budgeting responsibilities, and executive engagement.
  • 15+ years of professional experience in IT or business
  • Experience with Oracle, Microstrategy, Microsoft SQL, SharePoint, and other related technologies in a VMWare virtualized and Cisco network environment.
  • IBM Mainframe experience is desired
  • Demonstrated expertise in ITIL Fundamentals, Agile Development, and DevOps
  • 5+ years experience defining and managing SLA’s/Metrics in coordination with contractual and business needs
  • Experience with global vendor outsourcing models, managed services and transition for global teams
  • Strong business acumen in managing costs, developing business cases, and delivering cost effective solutions.
  • Experience in process improvement and Lean delivery efforts
