Position Title: Store Operations Specialist

External Description:

Basic Purpose: 

 

This position is responsible for identifying the operational needs of stores and creating and implementing in-store programs to address those needs.  This position is responsible for programs specifically related to external vendors and the related corporate business partners. This position also responds to operational issues in stores and develops resolutions and oversees the process to correct these issues.

 

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Responsible for the submission and delivery of store supplies and partnering with Finance to manage the supplies budget. This position will partner will stores to ensure their needs are meant in a timely and effective manner.  
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining operational programs to meet the needs of Misses and Outlet stores including Canada. This includes operational needs such as transportation, insurance, maintenance programs, communication, policies and procedures, etc.  Streamline store operational procedures so store and management can easily administer them.
  • Identify ways to improve the services provided to stores so that their operational needs are met. Change existing systems and anticipate future store needs based on changing business requirements and introduce new market trends to stay current and competitive in the industry.  Eliminate operations that are no longer necessary.
  • Implement changes to current operations programs by communicating changes, developing training programs, and creating procedures, guides, forms and reports.
  • Control, edit and coordinate the timely delivery of all operational communication to the stores such as emails, surveys and phone calls.
  • Review and analyze data from store programs. Develop recommendations based on findings and present to management.
  • Develop and implement key business guides for stores such as shipping, inventory management activity guides, supply guides to support stores.
  • Responsible for operational communication to stores. Ensure the field communication such as email, postings and information packages are written in a clear and concise manner.
  • Analyze store programs and issue recap reports to determine common errors. Develop methods to address common errors such as improved communication and training.

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience at a level normally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of specialty retail experience with a knowledge of store operations and communication
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills plus knowledge of budgeting
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to successfully work on multiple priorities and proactively address potential issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills including effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive and collaborative working relationships
  • Ability to rely on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities
  • Experience with technical alternatives and basic knowledge of emerging technologies
