Position Title: Dir eCommerce

External Description:

Basic Purpose:  

 

The Director, Ecommerce will bring a passion for ecommerce customer experiences, technology, and analytics and lead the strategic prioritization and execution of the Talbots Ecommerce and SFCC roadmap, achieving sales objectives and improving customer acquisition, engagement, and retention. This is a key role in the Talbots organization, providing thought leadership to develop and prioritize the roadmap while also leading its tactical execution and business delivery in partnership with multiple cross-functional business and technical teams.

 

Principal Accountabilities:  

 

  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of ecommerce product managers.
  • Lead, drive and mentor the matrix delivery organization including Web Design, IT, Scrum Lead, QA and UAT teams.
  • Lead and manage development and execution of the end-to-end Talbots.com experience roadmap, and associated Salesforce Commerce Cloud platform functional roadmap, to support ecommerce sales goals, brand development, merchandising opportunities, and integrated retail / omnichannel goals
  • Partner extensively with IT, translating business requirements into experience and technology solutions to ensure high quality capabilities delivery and effective realization of business objectives
  • Lead the UX planning, execution, review, and approval process of new website experiences with staff designers
  • Oversee the full SDLC execution of roadmap to ensure effective and quality deliveries, leading and mentoring agile development process across a broad cross-functional team
  • Partner with the Analytics team to integrate robust analytical discipline within the ecommerce team, beginning with opportunity identification and planning, through requirements definition, delivery, testing, and ongoing performance measurement
  • Partner with Brand, Merchandising, Loyalty/CRM, Stores and Analytics teams to identify needed capabilities and business opportunities for roadmap prioritization
  • Participate in strategic planning with both Senior Director, Ecommerce and SVP, Ecommerce

Education/Experience/Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Marketing, or related field. Master’s degree a plus
  • 7-10+ years of software product management experience, preferably in a retail ecommerce environment
  • 4+ years’ experience managing, developing and motivating people
  • Strong knowledge of agile software development methods
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce funnel flows and interactions, including understanding of available functional and experience levers to drive KPIs such as visits, conversion, and AOV
  • Experience with web analytics, testing and targeting, and personalization, including tools such as Adobe Analytics, Adobe Target, or Monetate
  • Demonstrated success driving ecommerce business results through functional, user experience, and merchandising changes, updates, and activities
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and desire to roll up your sleeves and execute, as well as to oversee a team that is driving execution
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
  • Salesforce Commerce Cloud experience a plus
